If This Doesn't Kill Romney's Chances
Nothing will. Poor Romney can't catch a break. Now he has been endorsed by the Supreme Statist, former leader of the New World Order, and Skull and Boner, President George HW Bush (41)

Pretty Sad
It is actually pretty sad when the endorsement of a former President does not count for beans!

Actually, I always referred to George H.W. Bush as Bush the Smarter. Of course, being smarter than Dubya doesn't really take much effort.

Just curious, do you have an MBA from Harvard Business School; Bush does.
I seriously doubt you could even pass the undergraduate classes Bush took at Yale when he got his Bachelor's degree in history.
Bush also flew fighter jets for the Air Force; they don't let you do that if you're actually stupid.
Bush's grades were better in college than Gore's and Kerry's; do you think they're stupid?

Well, yes. I know you didn't ask me, but neither Gore nor Kerry were geniuses. Saying W was smarter than them is setting a pretty low bar. Even WTF could beat that. Hmmm . . . maybe not.

You're probably right. It just galls me that liberals treat Bush like he's an idiot and worship there own guys. Good lord, they even gave Gore an Oscar for his silly movie. There are far more stupid liberal politicians than stupid conservative ones.
I also think it's strange that Obama's college transcripts are sealed. Who knows what kind of grades he made.

And both Gore and Obama are Nobel Laureates! That says a lot more about the Nobel committee than it does Gore or Obama.

Nobel prizes are handed out based on the vote of a committee chosen by Norway's parliament. It's totally political. These idiots also gave a Nobel prize to Yasar Arafat, a known terrorist, anti-semite and very likely a pedophile.

When you all are talking Gore, do you mean this one?
White House Commission on
Aviation Safety and Security
FINAL REPORT
TO
PRESIDENT CLINTON
VICE PRESIDENT AL GORE, CHAIRMAN
FEBRUARY 12, 1997
February 12, 1997
President William J. Clinton
The White House
Washington, DC
Dear Mr. President,
We are pleased to present you with the report of the White House Commission on Aviation Safety and Security. You established this Commission by issuing Executive Order 13015 on August 22, 1996 with a charter to study matters involving aviation safety and security, including air traffic control and to develop a strategy to improve aviation safety and security, both domestically and internationally.
During the past six months, we have conducted an intensive inquiry into civil aviation safety, security and air traffic control modernization. Commission and staff have gathered information from a broad range of aviation specialists, Federal Agencies, consumer groups, and industry leaders.
After many months of deliberations we have agreed on a set of recommendations which we believe will serve to enhance and ensure the continued safety and security of our air transportation system.
We are privileged to submit these recommendations herewith.
Sincerely,
Vice President Al Gore, Chairman

I suppose that it just goes to show there are no limits to the purchasing power of Poppy's (Bush the Smarter) and Grandpoppy's money and influence.
As it relates to Dub's military service record. If I am not mistaken, Poppy was afraid that Dub was going to get drafted and possibly sent to Vietnam. One of Poppy's friends in the Texas Legislature arranged for Dub to serve a 6 year commitment in the Texas Air National Guard. The National Guard commitment brought along with it a minimal chance that Shrub would ever serve in Vietnam.
It is not quite what you said, but in the grand scheme of things, he did serve a partial commitment to the Texas Air National Guard. I say partial because a couple of years arrangements were made for Dub to be the only member of the Texas Air National Guard serving in Alabama. It just so happens Shrub was working on a political campaign in Alabama and having to go back and forth to Texas was going to be an inconvenience. Well, we wouldn't want Poppy Bush's son and Grand Poppy Bush's grandson to be inconvenienced, would we? At the end of the day, serving his full military commitment to the Texas Air National Guard was not a high priority item in the world of George W. Bush! Staying out of Vietnam was a much higher priority!
There are distinct advantages in being the son of a US Congressman (and future POTUS) and the Grandson of a former US Senator!

My references to W's academic record and fighter jet experience were only made to establish that he's not an idiot as almost all liberals contend.
I don't know the details of his military service; he may well have served mainly to avoid going to Vietnam. Apparently he didn't do anything too outrageous, otherwise Dan Rather wouldn't have had to fabricate a story about it.
I'm not a huge Bush fan. I just don't like people taking cheap shots at him. He wasn't very conservative. He was weak on illegal immigration, weak on controlling spending, and he never should have expanded Medicare to include prescription drugs. He never should have let Ted Kennedy write his own version of his education bill that eliminated vouchers.

It was quite obvious to me that you did not know the details of his military service. Otherwise, you wouldn't have claimed he was in the US Air Force!

It's a shame that the elder President Bush didn't use the opportunity to mention John Huntsman. Romney is far from the worst guy the Republicans could nominate, but there is a lot of fodder for negative adds on him.

“W” WAS in the U.S. Air Force. Your insinuation that he was not is either a blatant attempt at lying or illustrates your own ignorance. The Texas Air National Guard is an integral part of the USAF. Check on Wiki for the C-I-C: it’s Obama! BTW, Bush was on ACTIVE duty for some two years training to fly.

my 2 cents.... and BTW, I voted for both father and son...
Bushie#1 was a true statesman, former CIA chief, etc - brains, real world experience and understanding of domestic and international affairs.....
Bushie#2 - typical rich kid - has brains but coasts on name and connections.... doesn't mean he does not have the ability, just that he never had to sweat it - things just happen easier for him than the rest of us.... doors open, opportunities appear, etc...
My issue with him, being that both he and I are "mis-talkers", isn't his ability to understand complex issues, but more his appearance of being elevated above the fray of normal life and not really caring... and, IMHO, bad judgement - just surrounding himself with Chaney and Rumsfeld is a red flag..... since it appears that he never had to really exercise his critical thinking, never had to gut things out, he possibly lacked the ability to truly question the motives of those that surrounded him.... hence the Iraq war quagmire and other screw ups....
