Good ideas, Gentlemen! I'm sure you can imagine that every possible option, including the ideas above, were carefully considered before rolling out this feature.
We decided against limiting it to ladies with a showcase initially because we had no idea how quickly the library of showcases would grow, and we want it to be something that all of our lovely Verified Providers can benefit from. So far, it's been exciting to see which lovely lady is going to show up each day...and as far as today goes, the first eccie member that can contact the lovely Ms. Laylonie and get her to put up her avatar will earn the honor of "Hobbyist of the Day" and gets a beer on me!! You have until midnight today to make it happen. Ready, set, go!
So, it's quite possible that as the showcase library continues to grow, we will decide to limit the Provider of the Day feature to those girls only. In the meantime, if a girl you know gets the honors one day and she doesn't have her avatar selected, let her know...and let her know about the showcase too. The Showcase link definitely shows up if they have built one.
The second idea about having the picture be a link to another area of the site, or another site altogether (ex. her website) is something that Becky gave a little thought to before we rolled this out. We were a bit undecided about where we would have the link direct you to, but now that the feature is live, it seems to be a no-brainer. If she has a showcase, it'll go to her showcase, if she doesn't, it can take you to her Public Profile.
Keep those ideas coming, guys! These two are already on the list for our next phase of development.
