Wave, I think it was another check and balance on the system. The Founders did not fully trust the people, and this gave the President or Governor the power to reverse a politically motivated conviction. But I'm not sure. Someone may have a better answer.

But I never trusted the "Founding Fathers"

Just pardon all non violent guests of the prison hotel and give them something to do like community service and everyone should be fine.

Just think of the billions in would save in dollars

But most important: how much it would save in wasted humans who can live a life again

And you can give extra benefits for the prisoners that show they really wanna come back and live a normal life.

yea has nothing to do with race IMO. Ever notice how many rich people are in jail though vs the poor that had the honor of having the best public defender money can't buy?
