Just wanted to get some perspectives of where you think the EU problems are headed and what does that mean to us?
I for one think that it is not good for any of us (Unless you are shorting).
Less money to go around is never a good thing and at some point you have to stop printing.
Your thoughts?

No, respectfully, it's the right idea but I don't think that helps. I think everyone agrees on that one basic principle. We need to go at least one or two levels deeper to send some direction to the retards that we've elected.

I think we all need to get bumper stickers and yard signs that say "Cut government spending on _______". Insert your favorite passion in the blank.

I like big returns, so my top three items would be:

1. Government.

2. Big Oil subsidies

3. Military industrial complex (so-called 'defense')

While we make deep cuts in spending, we can't overlook areas where we're under-spending. My top 3 areas that we need to increase spending (funded by top 3 cuts) would be:

1. Education.

2. Alternative energy.

3. All forms of emerging technology.

Without better education, we're headed down the path towards a second-world society. Without alternative energy sources, we aren't masters of our own destiny. Technology is going to drive the world economies for the next several decades.

But wait! There's more! One last top-three – areas where we need more regulation (or possibly just fixed/less corrupt regulation):

1. Wall Street. These fuckers need a spanking and they need to be regulated on a very short leash.

2. Health Insurance. Our health care delivery is just fine. We have the best personnel and technology. The rot and corruption is located within the health insurance companies and policies, IMHO.

3. Political lobbying. End corporate political contributions and corporate gift-giving of any kind to politicians. Corporate political contributions are a strategy to override what otherwise might be the will of the voters. Why do we need companies funding politicians? What good can come from that?
