Default IN KC: Might Be Giants

Might Be Giants - They are great music!
Quote:
They Might Be Giants are an alternative pop/rock duo formed in 1982 by John Linnell and John Flansburgh. The band are most renowned for their hit single "Birdhouse in Your Soul". Linnell and Flansburgh attended high school together in Lincoln, Mass., but after graduation they went their separate ways, forming the band after meeting up again in New York.

Says tickets are $32 to stand? What is the Beaumont? You have to stand to hear them preform?

I couldn't imagine going to a rock show and sitting down. In fact I remember a Pantera show about 10 years ago at Sandstone and a few people were sitting down in the seats in front of the stage. Phil fucking lost it and started berating them. Good fun entertainment

Yup, COG you have probably been pretty sad since Buddy Holly died havn't you? Especially since the group on the above list is tom Petty, with his latest hit from 1993 "Last Dance with Mary Jane," the police broke-up in the fall of 1987 and the others from 25-40 years ago. WTF with these new fangled bands! LOL COG, where ya been?

Well, I do like some of the modern bands. The Beatles are very good, but I miss Strawberry Alarm Clock.

Yeah, and Gary Puckett and the Union Gap. But you can't beat Benny Goodman or Glenn Miller.

Yup, the Big Band sound never goes away. Do you still watch Lawrence Welk on your Kansas PBS station? Funny thing is my mom and I watch it about every Saturaday night after Wheel of Fortune! I live the wild life!
