Why are there so few provider showcases in KC vs say Dallas?

This is probably the biggest reason for the showcase discrepancy. Lots of parts of the country are way over or underrepresented on ECCIE. Look at all the forums just in Texas. They have dedicated forums for cities that would be all grouped together in any other state. ECCIE started down there and it is just the place to go. Meanwhile the Miami, New York, or Los Angeles boards on ECCIE are really lacking.

However I definitely think that Dallas has many more providers per capita than Kansas City. I laughed at the suggestion that the cost of hairspray is the reason, but I think it is more likely a result of lax law enforcement and other cultural differences. Larger cities are generally more permissive.

Eccie just has the market in Dallas compared to other boards. Kansas City has more showcases than Las Vegas, and Vegas is HOOKERLAND!!

Same with Chicago and many other areas... they have almost nothing on ECCIE.

I love Dallas and wanted to share some interesting information.
The Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex is the largest metropolitan area in the south and fourth largest metropolitan area in the United States. The city's prominence arose from its historical importance as a center for the oil and cotton industries, and its position along numerous railroad lines. Dallas developed a strong industrial and financial sector, and a major inland port, due largely to the presence of the Dallas/Fort Worth International airport one of the largest and busiest airports in the world. Which I believe means, more money is funneling into Dallas. More money brings more escorts!
I can certainly say I have no idea what hairspray costs here!!!
I know my head is partially cut off, but my hair is not teased to the ceiling!

Hobby sites tend to be regional. No sure how Eccie became popular in KC but SF has Red Book so most other sites are secondary at best. I have traveled to other areas and there are other regional sites in each area. I don't think there is a history of regional hobby things anywhere. Anyone who knows KC Hobby history might chime in.

Statistically, to really evaluate, we would need to know about hobby dollars and contacts not just population. And the Census will not have those until the hobby is legalized, taxed and regulated.
But the total number of males and females would be more usable than married or unmarried.

I soooo agree with you on that point newtotown! Most of my clients are married, so it wouldn't matter what the statistics were for the ratio of men to women unmarried. I think when it comes to a provider deciding the market, she looks at where there is the greatest opportunity of clients available. Unfortunately for them, Dallas is such a draw for all girls (especially the ones starting out in the biz)...that the market is quite saturated. I'll bet if you were able to do a survey with all the providers in Dallas, more than half those girls aren't even from the area, but drawn there by the belief they were going to make alot of money. Picking Kansas City to move to for provider reasons wouldn't stand out to a new provider...probably wouldn't even know this is strong finance city. Dallas, to the laymen sounds like money! I'm just saying anyway...my own little thoughts on the matter.
