Who wants a raise?

This is interesting especially with talk of cutting social security and military pay. Of course you will not find this on snopes cuz snopes is pro obama and would never report on something detrimental to him. Check out factcheck.org for an explanation. The administration says the raised were based on promotions to new jobs. Sounds like a BS excuse to me. These are raise for 2010 and 2011.

How did your social security increase work out for you this year? Was it comparable at all to the increases that Nobama gave his staff during this difficult financial period? Top pay raise of + 86% increase was to the Director of African-American Media. What the Hell is that? The guy must have done a great job doing whatever the Director of African-American Media does these days. Your tax dollars at work.

Well, snopes is just hit and miss on everything.
Drudge always headlines this stuff and millions read it, unfortunately they are all part of the choir, so to speak.

As far as the military pay, it's at a point now where it's been increase above inflation for over 10 years. Did you know that we pay troops to sit at the desk of a gym and pass out towels or basketballs? (We call them Recreational Specialists.) Active duty Army Sergeants and Staff Sergeants, E-5 and E-6...the Air Force does the same thing.

The issue I have is the bloated size of the force. Paying someone $50,000+ a year in pay and benefits to hand someone a towel is just way too excessive and wasteful....oh and they get a pension for life for handing out that towel. Maybe we eliminate that billet, and pay someone $9.00 an hour, which is what that job is worth. Just one would save upwards of a million dollars lifetime. Too much support embedded and not enough warrior.

And if you pull out the military person, they just put in a Civil Service worker....Maybe a GS-3 or GS-5 and you have the same problem, and now you've turned it into a UNION job, which has to be "negotiated away".

On the flip side, we pay some soldiers way too little. Based on your logic, soldiers that are deployed to combat zones should be making millions since they are risking their lives right.

The jobs you describe of someone handing out a towel are far and few between. And they are temporary jobs. As far as GS workers ... I think they are paid way too much. It would be best to let military personnel do the job of a GS worker. I've known many GS workers who get paid a lot more as a GS to do the same job they did as a serviceman.

I know, dude.

This dude I used to play ball with had an uncle or brother or something in the service who worked at a gym 'just handing out towels', as someone put it. It's not like they do that shit for 20 years, get out, and go work for IBM or some shit. That's like temporary, transitional work. They do that for like a month, then go do real army shit again.

You wanna get mad at someone for making 'too much money' for nothing, look at your policitians themselves. They make $100,000 or more to make laws that they break, that YOU can't break or you go to jail or pay out the ass for. On top of making a lot of money, they don't pay for anything. They get free transportation, free food, free housing, and probably free or cheap dental. That's DOUBLE getting over. Make a lot of money, but don't pay for shit!

Damn, man. How you gonna call out the soldiers, dude...especially now?
