People tend to forget that cutting jobs puts Americans out of work and takes money out of the system. It's so easy for Republicans to scream about trimming government when it isn't their job on the line. Even here in Texas the state has been 'trimming' by encouraging cutting jobs at the UT system. Countless people out of work, millions of dollars in incomes that won't flow back into the retail/housing sectors and all could have been avoided by encouraging lowering tuition, cutting top administrators incomes and bringing in more students. Conservatives hate pro-action, they thrive on re-action.
