Actually the Big Serious Issue is the method of use of our Tax Dollars. I recognize its easier for Politicians to cut the Education Budget, Medicare, Social Security, and even Defense, to leave things pretty much "status quo", and not change the methodology that creates the problem. The Suits in D.C. don't have to work up much of a sweat doing that as long as they protect the "Big Boys" that will finance their campaigns. The average American loses in every way!

By the way Wyldeman, I agree we desparately need a third Party, and the Libertarian Party has some good points.

One thing is for sure, some sort of action must take place. As far as Tax Breaks for Corporations go, they have had them and still chose to employ overseas labor to maximize profits, so it is obvious there must be some conditional strings attached. But our Politicians are too busy fighting each other to get anything done. I truly put more of the blame on the Republican Party because they seem to represent only the best interests of the Very Wealthy 1%, who are driven by profit, not a sense of Nationalism.

Banks are given money to circulate into the economy, but don't. And our Congress cannot pass or agree on any kind of bill to make them! Talk about a dysfunctional Government. And to make things clear, I don't blame Obama. He inherited this mess and is getting no cooperation to help resolve it. Instead quite the opposite.

[quote=Wyldeman30;1387818]We need to cut our defense budget by getting out of countries that we have no business being in.
Costs a lot of money to put armed Predators up in the sky, to train, feed and equip the best troops in the world, etc. At this point, a huge amount goes to advantages that keep our people alive. Think about the fact that an Abrams M1 tank has not been destroyed in battle (maybe 1), the list goes on and on. Think self-sealing gas tanks and armor vs. non-self-sealing tanks and aluminum in the Pacific in WWII
Social security needs to be revised for everyone under 40. I am under 40 and for that since there will not be anything left since the Federal government keeps robbing from it. Those that make and have planned for there retirement should have scaled down amount on what they can receive in Social Security. This will help with people who have paid in and need more to survive the senior years.
It certainly needs to be funded.
Federal Education department gone and let the states regulate education we need to get innovative with education since the current system is not very effective. Schools are teaching for test instead of real knowledge and creative thinking.
There needs to be a set of national standards. If our state regulated our state we would be up shit creek. As for stifling innovation, look no further than our state board of education. The same gang that wants creationism and intelligent design is get the same amount of class time as evolution. Evolution is a theory in regards to people. It is proven fact with many species that have extensive fossil records.
Unemployment would improve if we would offer an incentives for businesses to be on American soil. How do we do that you ask lower corporate taxes. If we have an environment that encourages businesses to grow you have more workers and a bigger tax base. By doing this you have less unemployment. As a direct result we would have less people on food stamps and housing assistance.
Someone with a family making $5.00 an hour won't be getting off of public assistance.
I would also do away with minimum wage so that you can have more jobs for unskilled workers.
If you only have X amount of dollars to pay for wages, how does that increase the tax base? It may lower it because now that money is spread around among more people, people who don’t make enough to pay taxes. So you would redistribute the pay for 10 people to 15 people. Creating jobs by cutting pay gets the workers less than before. I’m sure the non-hourly profit sharers would like that idea.
Look at the amount of growth from 2003 to 2007. It flattens in regards to number of employed. During the most business friendly administration and low taxes, company productivity continued to rise as employment dropped. A company's bottom line is the name of the game. They don't hire people just to be good community citizens. I've worked in semi-conductors for 30 years. The number of people working in the clean room has gone from 6-8 people per bay to 1 person for 2 bays. Automation, robotics, and tracking software to connect everything. As the user interface gets easier to use, the guts get more complicated. Fewer people for improved productivity. Reliability has increased to the point that the same number of Equipment Engineers can maintain and service twice the equipment.
Simplify our tax code by getting rid of it. One page form everyone pays 10% or have a fair tax example just a higher sales tax. This way even illegal aliens pay taxes as well. This would also get rid of the IRS. I call the IRS legalized to steal.
Sales taxes couldn't be more regressive. Someone who makes 100 times what you do doesn't spend 100 times what you do. The tax code is fucked up but the answer is to fix it, not throw it away. I could live with a flat tax that was fairly implemented.
Foreign Aid don't do it on a federal level let the American people give if they felt led to. This way the dollar and help go further and is not wasted.
I think we need to be more selective who we give to and what we give for but part of the American national character is being there when help is needed. It doesn't always have to be money.
Medicare needs to revamped as well.
To get rid of our dependance of foreign oil. I have an idea that we drill as much as possible and use what we have underground now. Offer an incentive for Americans to find a cost effective energy source. It will take about 10 years to implement the new Technology so that everyone has accessibility to it.
The incentive is one of the largest markets in the world. So we just need to figure out a cost effective energy source, develop it, test it, refine it, figure a way to distribute it in a cost effective way, and build a new infrastructure for accessibility for all. And in a parallel path, simultaneously develop new equipment that uses this new energy source. In 10 years.
Luckily someone thought about this in the 60s. It's called a fuel cell. Developed by NASA. It uses liquid hydrogen to generate electricity to run electric motors. It is very polluting though. The waste emission is water.
Cryo tanks would replace standard gas station tanks. A new pump and you're in business. The time factor is needed to phase out internal combustion. At least another 10-15 years for production to cease. And another 10-15 years for them to wear out or become too expensive to operate or repair. 30 years sounds about right, for both me and my Vette, when we'll both be too expensive to fix.
Lets also offer incentives for inventors and manufacturing to come back to the U.S. How about offering an incentive to get customer support centers back on U.S. Soil instead of in New Delhi so we can understand what the fuck they are saying.
If our inventors had left, we would be shit-out-of-luck. That is the main difference between us and the rest of the world. This is where a huge % of the Intellectual Properties come from. Call centers are minimum wage to slightly higher for non-tech. Tech call centers are where the technical people are at. This isn't a case of "If you build it they will come". If they come they will probably speak Farsi. India turns out way more engineers, mathematicians, etc. than the US. You know, those people conservatives call elitists. You know, smart people. Everyone knows M.I.T. is for chumps, blah, blah blah. Conservatives love to categorize people into negative groups. Stay with me here because I'm going to throw a concept at you. Because the name conservative is used by the group themselves, it's not me grouping them when I say conservatives. Most ivy leaguers acknowledge that grouping (ivy leaguers) but probably not elite socialist scum.
Anyway.
