There are precautions you can take to cut down the risks. Certainly if a guy seems high risk, you need to use good judgement. This is the wrong profession for someone who is going to worry about every possible risk.

well said Lynn...There are risk but if you take the time to educate yourself and I mean no disrespect but the odds of contracting certain things may be higher but unless you live your life in a bubble you are at risk for catching alot of things at anytime...I choose not to do CBJ unless asked which I did once and I hated it...But that is me and I have an extensive medical background and was more at risk when dealing with my patients for various things than I am now....my advice is just do research and never do it if say you bite your lip or inside of you cheek or have dental issues those will put you at a higher risk because that is a direct transmission route into your bloodstream....or if it makes you more comfortable with CBJ stick with what works for you but let the guys know before so they made an informed decision which I am sure you do ....
