Back in the day, Gunsmoke was considered to be one of the best shows on television. It always hurts when one of the legends from that era passes on! RIP

I know how sad, I always liked that show. Festus, Miss Kitty and Doc too .

Show ran for 20 years.

On another note ... Jack Kevorkian also died today.

It was a staple. When did Festus, Ken Curtis, die? Is Burt Reynolds the only regular left?

I think that you are correct. I know that Doc and Miss Kitty are gone. Some interesting facts about the cast:

1) John Wayne declined the offer to play Marshall Dillon and suggested they offer it to James Arness.

2) Despite the fact that his speech was intentionally made to sound as if he were terribly uneducated, Festus, had a magnificient singing voice. He was one of the "Original" Son's of the Pioneers!

RIP

Didn't Miss Kitty actually die in Austin? She moved here, married a City Councilman who didn't tell her he had...a horrible disease...and she succumbed.
