Default ***Getting A phone flashed!***

Hi,

Does anyone know about getting a phone flashed? I got a new phone and got it flashed with my number but I don't have the same features as the original phone and both of my phones ring at the same time....how could this be a good thing?

Please enlightening on the good and bad of flashing phones, please!

Sincerely,
Wet

I'm not a telecommunications expert, but both phones will ring, because they are both still encoded with the same number. I think that this will probably continue for a few days, until your provider's network is updated. It really isn't a big issue. Just turn off the phone that you are no longer using.

If you are going to continue using the old phone, you can take it to your provider and they will encode it with a new number.

Hi,

Thanks but when I did turn it off my "new" phone wouldn't ring. Also, I pay for internet access but the "flashed" phone always says no network available.

I will do as you suggested and get a new number.....for personal use...and I still would like some more inside information about "flashing" software or whatever....tech guys where are you?

Sincerely,
Wet

I assume your using a CDMA provider ie Verizon, Cricket, Sprint. You'll need to call your provider and tell them to replace your ESN of the old phone to the new of the new phone. This will effectively render the old phone useless (w/out service). The new phone should now be operational within the next 4 hours or so. Depending on the provider all services may not be available for a full 24.

This is info from 3 yrs ago as I've switched to GSM networks.

Good Luck
