FACEBOOK Help
I'm new to Facebook and can't seem to find the answers to a couple questions if someone could assist.
1). When you sign in and you see a newsfeed from someone...and that person's feed is mainly junk type of news...like fortunes, or other garbage. I want to delete the feed or the post but when I go to click the X to the right (assuming it means delete), it only offers to either HIDE everything from that person or to say it's SPAM. If I choose to hide everything, then I can't see if she's writing something halfway decent can I?...unless I suppose I visit her page. Is there a way to delete individual feeds as I read or look at them and decide I don't want them up there?
2). How long do feeds stay on your page there? 24 hours? Or just one page worth and when new feeds from friends come in, they disappear?
3). If I HIDE all newsfeeds from one person, can I reverse that decision?
4). I see or noticed that I can delete actions I've taken on my account recently such as updated photos or school, etc. I'm assuming these update on my friends pages too as a deletion. Do they? Whenever I do a simple update like changing my school or the like, is that considered a newsfeed and other people in my friends list see that?
5). How come when I visit a friend's page, you can't really see anything on them other than basic info? I thought you can see friend's WALLS and all they post when you visit their page. Does this mean they have it in private mode or something?
6). I have yet to post anything on my wall. I'm waiting to know if I do, is it visible to my friends and/or strangers? I've changed my settings so that only friends see crap. Does this mean friends of my friends can see things too?
7). If some stranger happens across my page by either seeing a comment I put on another friend's wall, and they want to become friends, they just send a request, correct?
8). I put an email address on Facebook when I signed up and I see they put it on my page. It gives me a choice to edit it, but when I try to edit it, it says they need an email for the site. Is there anyway to delete it on my profile page so Facebook has the email but others can't see it?
9). When I get notifications...the list keeps getting longer. How long do these notifications stay up there? How can I delete them after I read them?
10). How can I get rid of the garbage ads and suggestions and stuff to the right of the page?
11). Is your newsfeed considered your wall?
Thanks...that's all I have for now.

I'm on facebook too under my real name
If someone wants to be your facebook friend they can send a request and they can't be your friend unless you approve them
when you post on your wall only your friends can see it
1)on the bottom right of your profile page click on privacy,
2)on the new page that comes up click on privacy settings on the bottom of the page
3)then on the bottom of that page click on customize settings to change whatever you want
the drop-down box includes custom which basically is like the ignore button
also type in facebook help center in the search bar the same one for looking for new friends
and I don't think there's a a way to delete all the advertisement crap
hope this helps

As far as getting rid of the ads, you can install adblocker and adblocker plus on firefox. I never see the ads on facebook anymore.

Few my accounts was blocked for adding friends (too much per time, they says it was a spam like!). Now I have good stable account with stable group and some add's like a my escorts agency company there etc. You can easily find all that if you will search for 'Modelz Call-Girlz' as a user or simply 'moscow escorts' in search place for a group. So I can give some recommendations or advices about working with a Facebook or Twitter (now I have an account with about a 500 followers there). Of course all that for Russian escort. Moscow & St Petersburg.

Geniusman, thanks for the suggestions. That was the first thing I did was go into privacy settings and switch everything.
I still need answers to #s 2-5....with #5 and my not being able to see anything on friend's walls, I'm wondering if they even considered me a friend? I can see their wall ONLY as a newsfeed not on their profile page at all.
Thanks CHICACHASER for the info. I didn't want to chuck out money for a Facebook book because I really don't plan on doing anything with my facebook page other than have it for the friends who've been bugging me to add them. Maybe I should RENT it though from the library and read it over.
I'd like to know if I can delete any bad comments someone might make on my wall or is the only way to do that would be to DELETE that person from my friend's list and then ALL their comments disappear? Can I pick and choose which comments show up basically?
Tia

I'll try to answer a few of these.
If you block someone you can reverse that action anytime. Just click on "most recent" at the top of your newsfeed. In the drop down menu click edit options and you can view the list of blocked people.
When you change your school or city you live in it does show in your friends newsfeeds. You can remove it from everyone's newsfeed by deleting it from your wall.
If you are not able to access a friends wall and/or photos it means one of three things. Either they have not accepted your friend request, or they deleted you, or they have privacy settings in place that don't allow you to post on their wall.
As far as the newsfeeds go, there are two different feeds. The "most recent" feed is in chronological order. The oldest posts will "fall off" as your friends update their status or add pictures, etc. The "top news" feed seems to be a collection of the most active status updates and things of that nature from the past 24 hours or so.

DaKissable.........yes, that helps quite a bit because like I said, I don't plan on using it but want to make sure I'm very careful about what others see or if I post anything at all, that it won't come back to haunt me in the future.
GMTA-------uhhhh, thank you very much for the compliment. I hate Facebook too and that's why I have avoided it all these years. You and I think alike....I "did" put together a new email address just to sign into Facebook and have used a fake name and have told my friends that it's ME.....and to not use my real name if they ever plan on posting on my wall and to use my fake name instead. They've agreed. Whether they remember to do that or not--we'll see. Like I said, I don't plan on participating with it myself. Just wanted to make my friends happy by joining so they can add me. Plus I kept getting tired of the Facebook "Your Friend Wants You To Join" emails.

YOU CAN CHOOSE TO "HIDE THIS POST" THAT WAY YOU CAN SEE ANYTHING ELSE THAT PERSON POST.
2). How long do feeds stay on your page there? 24 hours? Or just one page worth and when new feeds from friends come in, they disappear?
NOT SURE HOW LONG THEY STAY. I HAVE BEEN ABLE SEE POST THAT WERE MONTHS OLD. JUST HAVE TO CLICK "OLDER POST" AT THE BOTTOM
3). If I HIDE all newsfeeds from one person, can I reverse that decision?
To unhide a person, Page, or app story-type, follow these steps: - When you are on your "Most Recent" News Feed view, click "Most Recent" to expand a drop-down menu.
- Select "Edit Options."
- A list of all people, Pages and apps you’ve hidden will appear in a pop-up box. Click "x" next to each one you'd like to remove from this list. Removing someone from your "Hidden" list means she or he can appear in your News Feed again.
- Click "Save."
4). I see or noticed that I can delete actions I've taken on my account recently such as updated photos or school, etc. I'm assuming these update on my friends pages too as a deletion. Do they? Whenever I do a simple update like changing my school or the like, is that considered a newsfeed and other people in my friends list see that?
YES YOUR FRIENDS WILL SEE WHEN YOU HAVE UPDATED THESE THINGS. IT WILL SHOW IN THEIR NEWSFEED...ALTHOUGH NOT USUALLY AS QUICKLY AS A STATUS UPDATE.
5). How come when I visit a friend's page, you can't really see anything on them other than basic info? I thought you can see friend's WALLS and all they post when you visit their page. Does this mean they have it in private mode or something?
FACEBOOK PROFILES HAVE RECENTLY CHANGED. IF YOU LOOK UNDER THEIR AVATAR YOU CAN SEE THE OPTIONS SUCH AS WALL, INFO, PHOTOS, NOTES AND FRIENDS. CHOOSE WALL TO SEE THEIR WALL...SOME SEEM TO AUTOMATICALLY SHOW THE WALL FIRST, OTHERS DONT AND YOU HAVE TO CHOOSE THAT OPTION ONCE ON THEIR PAGE.
6). I have yet to post anything on my wall. I'm waiting to know if I do, is it visible to my friends and/or strangers? I've changed my settings so that only friends see crap. Does this mean friends of my friends can see things too?
IN YOUR PROVACT OPTIONS YOU HAVE 3 CHOICES FOR WHO CAN VIEW DIFFERENT THINGS. EVERYONE, FRIENDS OF FRIENDS AND FRIENDS ONLY. CHOOSE WHAT OPTION YOU WANT FOR EACH THING. I ONLY ALLOW MY FRIENDS TO SEE MY POST AND THINGS.
7). If some stranger happens across my page by either seeing a comment I put on another friend's wall, and they want to become friends, they just send a request, correct?
YES THEY JUST SEND A REQUEST. HOWEVER THEY WONT BE ABLE TO VIEW ANYTHING UNTIL YOU ACCEPT (OF COURSE THIS DEPENDS ON YOUR PRIVACT SETTINGS.
8). I put an email address on Facebook when I signed up and I see they put it on my page. It gives me a choice to edit it, but when I try to edit it, it says they need an email for the site. Is there anyway to delete it on my profile page so Facebook has the email but others can't see it?
YES YOU CAN DO THIS. GO TO PRIVACY SETTINGS. CHOOSE CUSTOMIZE SETTINGS. CHOOSE THE DROP DOWN BOX FOR THE EMAIL ADDRESS (ITS TWORDS THE BOTTOM) AND CHOOSE "CUSTOMIZE". THE CHOOSE "ONLY ME". THIS WORKS ON MANY DIFFERNT THINGS YOU MAY WANT TO HIDE.
9). When I get notifications...the list keeps getting longer. How long do these notifications stay up there? How can I delete them after I read them?
THE RED BOX SHOPWING YOU HAVE A NOTIFICATION SHOULD GO AWAY AFTER YOU CLICK ON IT TO SEE YOUR NOTIFICATIONS. SOMETIMES THERE IS A GLITCH AND THEY STAY A WHILE. I HAVE LEARNED THAT IF YOU CLICK IT AND LEAVE IT OPEN FOR A MINUTE, IT USUALLY WILL GO AWAY WHEN THIS HAPPENS.
10). How can I get rid of the garbage ads and suggestions and stuff to the right of the page?
THE ADS NEVER HAVE BOTHERED ME SO I'M NOT SURE ABOUT THIS...MAYBE ADBLOCKER?
11). Is your newsfeed considered your wall?
NO YOUR NEWSFEED IS NOT YOUR WALL...YOUR WALL IS WHAT IS ON YOUR PROFILE. NEWSFEED IS LIKE A COMBINATION OF ALL OF YOUR FRIENDS WALLS.
Thanks...that's all I have for now.
