What should I check out in Houston?

Going to be visiting Houston solo next week (14-17) and thought I'd ask the Houston forum what I need to check off my list on my visit. What's some spots(attractions/food/etc) I need to visit. I'll be attending the Rockets game on Friday and I definitely don't want to miss the Jon Jones fight. In fact I feel like I'll spend most of Saturday out watching the UFC fights. Looking online everyone recommends Tom's watch bar as the best spot to watch the UFC fights. I wouldn't even mind spending money to reserve a spot at a bar/establishment to avoid not being able to find a spot.

So I see your itinerary. Thursdays I go to the Ritz. Then I go to the heights for Steak night. Friday and Saturday anything on Washington avenue is Lit( I learned that term from my adult biracial kids). Fav eating spot are Trulucks, Warwick, Taste of Texas, Thirteen by James Harden , Tillman Fertitta steakhouse Mastros. Steak 48. If you are slimming or pockets light go to Pf Chang's Westheimer

Then the nightlife. Where do I start. Pour Behavior. Literally anything in Washington street. Just park and bar hop. Lastly, never leave Houston on a Sunday. This is the number one club city outside Miami now. Kirby and Chapman. When my wife is in town we go there. She goes from a CPA to a stripper who don't like penis. Twerks on this odd looking white boy who is our of place but the place is Lit. Super packed and nice folks. Huge but packed. Then I take her twerking ass home, reach for her vagina and it's baby I'm tired. Fuck my life lol. Always leave Houston on a Monday.

Interesting read - didn't realize Houston was still a club City seems like most of A list Clubs closed years ago or Sunday Funday still existing. I'm comparing back from the 90s til around 2010 when to me it seemed to tank. Sams Boat, Joya, Social, Chrome, NOX, Berry Hill in Montrose and of course the true OG Sunday spot that was as wild as any bar you've been in and at 3pm on a Sunday. La Strada. I gave it up about the time Cle tookover. Now it's stuff like Ciel for the high end, just can't stand the crowd.
