That would depend on whether you believe Trump’s bullshit lies about diverting FEMA disaster funds to housing “illegal” brown people.

Default FEMA Mission Creep Under Biden/Harris Is the Problem

Let's stop obfuscating.

It's a FACT that FEMA was tasked by the Biden administration with running a program that has spent close to $1 billion to date on housing for illegal immigrants.

Now we have a couple of hurricanes - the kind of REAL natural disaster most Americans want FEMA to address - and suddenly everyone notices how Biden expanded the agency's mission without telling anyone.

In a nutshell - An agency that is supposed to help our fellow citizens recover from natural disasters is being mis-used to funnel taxpayer money into the pockets of non-citizens lured into a man-made disaster created by the Biden/Harris administration's irresponsible open-border policies.

It's no wonder most Americans are scratching their heads and saying "there's something wrong with this picture".

And all the Biden/Harris apologists on this board can do is scream "lie, lie, lie" about whether the money FEMA spent on migrants was legally "diverted" or not.

Who cares?

FEMA shouldn't be spending ANY taxpayer dollars to house illegals in the first place!

PERIOD.

Please back up your statement with some supporting evidence. As far as I can tell the “FACTS” you are referring to are not facts at all.

Do some research before posting. If you have information to back up your claims please share it.

Otherwise here is some real information on how congress under multiple administrations has funded migration resettlement.

I'm talking about the Shelter and Services Program (SSP). It's administered by FEMA. SSP spent $364 million in FY2023 and $650 million in FY 2024 (ending Sept. 30) to house illegals. That's where the $1 billion number comes from. SSP is supposed to be a "domestic" program - but it's being used to house illegal immigrants rather than homeless citizens or Americans who have temporarily lost their homes due to natural disasters.

Your link doesn't refute any of the above. It pretends we've been doing this shit all along, going back to Reagan. That's bullshit. Any federal spending prior to Biden/Harris was minimal and targeted at American citizens, not illegals.

Don't act like such a know-it-all. Do your own research before responding.

The article does talk about the SSP Program. The money the program provides goes directly to states, counties, local municipalities and non-profits. It does not funnel money into the pockets of non-citizens. The money is a tiny fraction of the amount allocated to disaster relief and it doesn’t affect the amount that the disaster relief gets in any way shape or form.

But your original post says none of that. In fact it misrepresents the facts to imply that our government is giving away money to illegal immigrants directly rather than to disaster relief and that is a straight up falsehood.

The original Emergency Food and Shelter Program started in 1987. It started providing funding for migrant costs in 2019. It continued until 2023.

The Shelter and Services Program (SSP) is replacing the Emergency Food and Shelter Program-Humanitarian (ESFP-H) program. SSP bolsters the capacity of states, localities, tribes and nonprofit organizations to receive noncitizens after they have been processed by DHS. It also ensures appropriate coordination with and support for state, local and community leaders to help mitigate increased impacts to their communities.

You can get access to disaster assistance without having internet access.

There are four ways you can apply for FEMA disaster assistance:
Fill out a DisasterAssistance.gov application online.
Apply using the FEMA app. Download the free app from your smart phone's app store.
Apply by phone at 1-800-621-3362.
Apply in person at a Disaster Recovery Center (DRC).

Except no FEMA funds have been diverted from disaster assistance. The question posed by the OP, me by the way, should Congress come back and allocate more funding to refill the disaster relief funds because of the number and severity of weather related disasters to hit our country this year. Especially because it’s not over yet.

Your right. The refusal of certain segments of our society and government to recognize the consequences of climate change is keeping us from adequately planning and managing our response to the impacts of climate change.

Thank you for using facts. As I’ve noted many times before, Lusty has a casual relationship with truthfulness like the rest of the right wing nuts on this forum. That’s why I blocked him long ago. Nothing worse than someone that truly knows better but lies anyway.

Please stop repeating yourself, 1b1. You're always calling me a liar but never willing to be specific or engage with me on the topic at hand. It gets lame after a while. Not a good look.

And IF the Congress decides to add funds to FEMA, you can
surely wager they'll be new rules as-to WHAT the funds
can be used for.

why does that not surprise me one bit?

same guy who tried to score political points at Arlington National Cemetery. he has literally 0 shame, draft dodger that he is.

Disaster loan program fully ‘exhausted’ with Congress still out of town

Without congressional action, the Small Business Administration can’t make new loan offers to people trying to rebuild after disasters like Hurricanes Helene and Milton.
