California exit tax ? what are they thinking....
Now the CA legislature has come up with an idea to impose an Exit tax if a business leaves California.
I don't think it has passed, but how do they come up with ideas like this ? The next thing you know they will charge you an exit tax if you drive your car across the border - maybe an entry tax also.
They are not the first to think of these ways to get money, though. Countries came up with a departure tax to pay at the airport. Someone a while ago came up with the hotel tax and rental car tax for visitors coming to their city.
The founding fathers would be rolling over if they knew how many taxes are imposed.
