I've been doing track days for decades and perfected my heel and toe skills. That's where my pseudonym here came from. LOL The car I do track days in now still has a 6 speed manual, but it will probably be the last one I will buy.

It sucks, but its better technology.
I would say 99.9 percent of the world’s population couldn’t shift better than a good dual clutch transmission. I’ve grown to like them.

I'd say 100%. It's not physically possible to manually shift faster. F1 cars upshift in 3 milliseconds and downshift only slightly slower. No human can even come close. I've driven my buddy's 911 GT3 on a track and the shifting is mindblowing. No heat and toe, no blipping, just keep it floored.

Incredible, but at the end of the day, I still love to shift gears.

I agree. But I’m too lazy now to row gears on a daily driver. Dual clutch’s offer ease and a great driving experience. When I get around to it, I’ll get some type of vintage/ classic car. I’ll definitely get a manual for part time duty.

I'll sell you a very low mileage, slightly beaten and flogged R8.

I thought you sold that long ago? My friend had the V10. It had an automatic but not a dual clutch. Kinda stupid. Weakest link of the car. Always a pause between shifts. I’ll look for a 1970 LT1 convertible. I had one. M22 rock crusher manual. They only made 700 of them.

Nope, I tried to sell it but never found a serious buyer. I doubt I'll sell it any time soon since its now starting to increase in value a little bit.

The original R8s has a single plate automatic which wasn't very good. 2012 switched to a seven speed S-Tronic twin clutch DSG transmission which is very good.

Are they going to make them going forward? I read Porsche is going electric for the Spyder RS and Cayman GT4. Retarded.

Who the hell knows? One thing that I do know is that I will never, ever but an EV. I wouldn't rule out a hybrid, because they actually make sense. Railroad locomotives have been hybrids for decades and they seem to work pretty well.

No all electric cars for me either. Why would Porsche replace a 500hp, naturally aspirated, mid engine 9000 rpm screamer for a battery? What a buzz kill. A lot of the high performance engines are using electric superchargers now.
