Default MORE Truth From a GOP Member and House Speaker

... G'day All,

... Former Speaker Newt Gingrich has chimed in on
the Republican primary race - and just as I see it
- Newt himself surely believes that Trump will
no doubt be the Republican nominee.

Rather clear that the Republican Voters want Trump!

... So with that in-mind - the others somehow still
seeking a nomination should do the proper thing
and drop out. ... And support President Trump!

We don’t see the democrats going after their leader. The republicans want things to stay as they are.

It’s the RNC holding these debates not the democrats.

Chris Christie, Tim Scott, Nikki Haley or RFK, Jr. would all be better Republican presidents than Trump. Would bring actual conservative values back to the White House. Don't bring the same baggage. Have runways for an 8 year term.

Let the will of the people play out

My opinion of Christie is not nearly that high but Haley has shown me enough so far to consider her a legit candidate. Still not sure about Tim Scott he looks more like a VP right now. RFK Jr is an interesting candidate who could play a big role in who serves next term in the White House.

Agree that the will of the people is the best way to proceed. It is early in the process and with legal cases and questions about Biden the ballot may look different on election day than where we seem to be heading today. Trump says the lineup of challengers are just auditioning for jobs in his next administration and as of today that sounds correct. If for some reason he is not on the ballot one of them likely will be. Let them show us what they are about and if it was always going to be Trump and he wins again someone is going to need to step up in 2028

Since the House speakers are the topic:

Matt Gaetz will bring a motion to vacate the House speakership. Dems should only consider supporting McCarthy if he drops the ridiculous impeachment inquiry against President Biden. Otherwise let McCarthy flail in the wind!

... "House Speakers" are NOT the topic.
The topic is Newt's comment that the Republican race is over.

Care to comment on that?

Gee I thought it was "more truth from GOP member & House speaker". I thought McCarthy was one of those. My bad.

Ah hell. Might as well throw myself in for Nomination! And IF elected, My first Executive Order will be, if there is any disagreement on a bill, it will be settled in a Death Match. Two Politicians Enter, One Politician leaves. Televised too!!

... Hmmmm... Okay... Me intention there WAS Newt and
his comments, Eye... But surely reckon you and Tommy
just mis-understood that as I was less then clear.

No harm done - so post away about McCarthy if you wish.

Newt-

He called on the Republican National Committee to cancel future debates, after a slugfest Wednesday night that frequently descended into bickering that was impossible for viewers to digest. A DailyMail.com snap poll found a plurality thought Trump was the winner – and he wasn't even on the stage. A source told DailyMail.com Trump isn't likely to take part in the third scheduled meting in Miami.

'I think the Republican National Committee should cancel the future debates and say, "Look, we recognize the objective fact that Trump will be the nominee. We want to work with him,'"' Gingrich said.

What happened to freedom of speech for Newt?

Oh I know- he's already got his horse in the race, and now wants to limit the rest of the folks putting a hat in the ring.

Course- the best outcome from any of these debates is see who might be a good running mate should Trump be the nominee. That said, having a guy who gets arrested or violates the terms of his bail, and is held in custody, might be a good reason to have a plan B.

Newt, while was a decent speaker- is a guy who who has old, out-dated policies. Isn't he the guy who wouldn't even acknowledge his gay sister, cheated on his wife, and yet seems to have the ear of that good ol' -Moral Majority.

Tells you what you need to know about GOP politics. Do what we say, not what we do.
