What is the scam Maverick? In Texas the gasoline tax is 20 cents per gallon. That's a thousand gallons a year, or a little over 19 gallons a week for their $200. I know I put more in my tank than that every week just getting around town, no trips across this vast and great land or anything. Nothing in Texas is close to anything, so I'd think most folks there with their EVs will probably find that to be a fair trade. Oh, and never having to go to the gas station again, that's a plus.

To be fair, an EV is far easier to manage as a primary vehicle, with a back up ICE. I have a cheap assed Nissan Leaf (could not afford a Tesla, since I spend all my money on ladies), but my backup is a Toyota RAV4 PHEV. Best of both worlds -- battery for 40 miles, gas for however many thereafter.

Some only have space for one vehicle. Understood. May need some time for tech and finances to catch up. Might be better to rent a gasser some day rather than own one long term. Do the math.

If you are a renter, it gets more complicated. No criticism from me for sticking with internal combustion.

Listen to the facts from real sources. Carbon dioxide is killing the earth. We have to all think about what we can do.

I have a brother-in-law that was working on an all electric Semi and Hostler with a company a few years ago. Do you really think that a EV Semi could go down the road and make it from New York to California in the time frame a Diesel Semi could.

A solo driver Tesla Semi would need to charge 1 time in middle of shift. Then after driver hit time limit per day they would charge again during mandatory rest time.

Reality is if a company is doing coast to coast trucking every day they should be looking into rail transport. Trucks are much better for shorter distribution center to destination hauls.
