good to know sir! maybe i will try your system to compare and contrast. by the way, i am certainly no god! i saw a vid with the guy holding his axe in his left hand and sharpening with a diamond blade on his grinder in his right. not my 1st choice by a long shot! he may be the god you speak of..

my rule of thumb on working with anything dangerous is that if you feel anything less than gangsta-as in, i own this bitch-then either a. go back to school; or b. abandon your operation. i never got a comfort level on a skilsaw (circular saw) i bought, so i sold the bitch instead of going back to school. am i a wuss? yup. do i care? nope.

actually i can get the same functionality with my grinder using:
a. clamps;
b. the correct blade for what you're doing;
c. tape; and
d. a pretty steady hand, but no match for Haphaestos' godly hand..

Sharpening anything takes a lot of practice.
Slightly incorrect and a nice edge can be forever ruined.
On large items, overheating with a power grinder is a common ruinous error.

As Bowser alludes to, proper equipment is required.
I have a water cooled grinder also.

best weapon for dicey situations. you can end threats quickly without paperwork or court hearings. overall, though, i still prefer my well-sharpened titanium battle axe. what about you?

My go to weapon for fun and home defense is my G Force GF-12 AR with the extended magazine that holds 8 rounds of 3" buckshot. Basically it's a shotgun that looks like an AR and is fun as hell to fire. My second go to, just think Dirty Harry and his S and W model 29 44 magnum.

To px: the last thing I’ll add is that titanium sucks as a blade steel. It’s brittle, very difficult to sharpen, and dulls quickly.

I have more firearms than Carter Country.
My favorite is the S&W Victory, suppressed.
I use it daily around my place for dispatching trapped coyotes and other vermin.
I also use an old Case XX Bowie knife all the time, that I keep scary sharp, for keeping trails cleared of yaupon, etc.

^^totally off topic-UC point me if you muste, as any grumpy af and sexually frustrated male african elephant would-but how many acres do you own on your homestead/main ranch, and how far is it from say downtown htown?
(here's my guess: 500 acres, 3 miles, and your brother has a surname of hunt..)

impressive armory!
sounds like coyotes and wild hogs-they taste delicious when soaked in a white wine and papain marinade for about 3 days and then grilled over mesquite-would do well to give your premises quite the wide berth..

i'm a city slicker-med center condo dweller-and about the most exotic wild animal we have is the occasional mischevious raccoon. fun fact: those fuckers can climb a sheer wall with zero problem. i bet those buggers could free solo yosemite's half dome in their sleep..

i saw 2 of them torturing and maybe trying to kill and eat a cat-my hoa lets feral cats chill and reproduce in our complex-but the poor feline used one of his 9 lives when he made his impressive, houdini-like escape.

funny looking possum also have taken a hankering to our complex. i was deciding between my wrist rocket and my cross bow (my hoa takes great umbrage on the use of any S&W)-2 more weapons deserving honorable mention-to take one out to use as an abundant source of bait for braes bayou's abundant and delicious channel cats, when i realized his face was so ugly-only a mother could love-i had to have some mercy on his pathetic self. plus possum, ugly tho they be, have quite a bit of personality. i've had more than 1 run parallel to me-sort of a form of drafting like cyclists use-when they realized that no one and nothing was going to impede my forward progress on a bayou walk at 3am. cracked me tf up..

and no, bowser, i did not slay him with my battle axe. shame shame. with neither possum nor channel cat as fare, i went to bed hungry, which is the fate that anyone showing mercy to any animal constituting fresh, free range game should suffer..

one last question: how do you prefer sharpen your bad mofo bowie knife? that issue has-surprisingly-gotten quite a bit of play in this thread, and do any weapons of titanium or titanium alloy? if no, maybe i'm the only loser who thinks titanium is pretty legit..

Funny, because I actually have one. It’s “child’s play” compared to using diamond stones on the TS Prof (which is a $900 system made in Russia), but I use the Worksharp, sans guide, for touching up my “work” hatchets and shovels. The flex of the belt works fairly well for a convex edge grind, as opposed to the hollow grind of a wheel like that on the Tormek. I particularly don’t like the Worksharp for my finer knives, as the guides collect steel powder residue, which leads to unwanted scuffs on the blades.
