Is asking a provider to model first still a decent screening tool?

I am not saying you are wrong, if it works for you, it works.
My objection would be the social network trail left behind once the facebook algorithm starts recommending people as "mutual friends" etc. Seems not good for privacy.

You do know that you need to have a signed model release from the model before doing the shoot and you have to know the real name of the model and have a copy of their real ID for your records, if you want to believed that what you're saying is true, no real photographer wouldn't know the real name of the model they are working with.
Also most escorts aren't just going to agree to you taking nude pictures of them, most won't, unless you have agreed to pay them first just for taking pictures. which they can make more money doing just that, than actually having to do the escort work.

An amateur photographer does not need a model release unless he is going to sell the photos for publication or commercial use. A copy of the model's ID is a good idea - but not required by anyone - to make sure you can prove the model is at least 18 years old. I have done a number of amateur photoshoots that turned into sexual encounters, but I was only paying for the shoot, not for what developed afterward.

There is nothing illegal about paying a model who is over 18 for posing for nude pictures

Nothing illegal about paying them, but not many smart ones are going to fuck, the naive ones, new ones maybe but the experienced ones know they can make the money and not have to put out.

So you're going to tell the cop I just did a nude modeling photoshoot with someone who you don't know their real name, but you looked at their ID saying that they are 18+. wouldn't that be a little unbelievable you not knowing the name of your model.

Models fuck. Not all of them, but quite a few, and they are super hot. I do know their real name because I have them hold their ID by their face and snap a pic before the shoot begins. I generaly do not ask for a signed model release because I have no intention of selling the images. Photography is just a hobby for me.

True story. Lots of LMT's indulge requests to go beyond the standard session protocols. Quite a few models have unlisted menu options as well and some of them get very turned on during a shoot and like to be paid but are not trying to present themselves as more than a model. Not sure I see much value in trying to approach providers as models or trying to find models who provide. There are a good amount of regular girls out there who can be very willing UTRs though the OnlyFans generation is making those harder to come by.

Ninja, you are not wrong. I have photographed massage therapists and ended up with wild sessions...for free. Models and LMT's are definitely hit and miss, but those tight and toned bodies, and beautiful faces are hard to resist!

Generally walking in or when the girl arrives and you do NOT and I repeat DO NOT start off with cash in hand. I will share something that has worked well for me with LMT's
