Default Trans hate bill ruled un-American!

A federal judge has ruled that Tennessee's trans hating bill is against the constitution of the United States of America. You know, that important document, that starts out with that "We the People..." preamble, you see plastered on the window of so many rusted out pick up trucks. This ruling was made by a Trump appointed judge. Will the cancel culture cult call for his head?

https://www.npr.org/2023/06/03/11799...how-law-ruling

"NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Tennessee's first-in-the-nation law designed to place strict limits on drag shows is unconstitutional, a federal judge says.
The law is both "unconstitutionally vague and substantially overbroad" and encouraged "discriminatory enforcement," according to the ruling late Friday by U.S. District Judge Thomas Parker, who was appointed by former President Donald Trump.
"There is no question that obscenity is not protected by the First Amendment. But there is a difference between material that is 'obscene' in the vernacular, and material that is 'obscene' under the law," Parker said.

Tennessee becomes the first state to pass a ban on public drag shows

"Simply put, no majority of the Supreme Court has held that sexually explicit — but not obscene — speech receives less protection than political, artistic, or scientific speech," he said."

How can something be sexually explicit but not obscene?

Sounds like he's saying that for example MAGA Cult members may consider it to be obscene, but that it doesn't rise to the level of Obscene as defined by federal case law precedent.

The groomers are probably celebrating. At least for now

The OP conveniently left out who this bill was designed to protect. It was not designed to protect anyone who could join this site.

And the ruling was over the extent to how broad the bill was written. So the legislature can remedy that and bring sanity back. Or they can appeal. Then the groomers will be unhappy again

I didn't leave out anything. I provided a link to the entire article. Not every poster does that.

What are groomers?

Why would anyone other than a Tranny/Drag Queen/Groomer feel good about this ruling?

It's meant to protect the freedom of expression of drag queens and or transgender people.

Just knock off the 20 questions.
IF; you know the answer, Post it.
Then it can be a part of the discussion.

I would really like to see someone try to bring genuine strippers from a "straight" club Scores or Chip n Dale into a public library or grade school for a story time and show. But that might put the strippers in some sort of legal trouble.

Another event might be to bring the kiddies into a club for a field trip after lunch. Wonde if that would stir up any drama!

A new thought:

It seems that we can say "Queer" again. . . .I guess.

If we can again say queer, why do we need the rest of the inclusion letters?
