Why Only Do Democrats On This Forum Plead For Mods To Close/Remove/Censor Posts And Threads? Why Aren't Republicans On This Forum Begging For Censorship By The Mods?
I haven't seen one Conservative here ask the mods for censorship. I've seen several leftists here advocate for mod intervention concerning posts and threads. I've even seen Democrats here criticize mods for not censoring enough. I've seen Dems on this site complain about lack of censorship by the mods. Why is that? What does this tell us? I'm sure the mods can verify this. I just don't understand. Someone help me out.

... Hmmmm... Lemme try to help you out there, Char.
We Conservatives mostly don't ask for any censure-ships.
Since we don't believe in it much-any.

Fear of playing football mostly
"Why Only Do Democrats On This Forum Plead For Mods To Close/Remove/Censor Posts And Threads? Why Aren't Republicans On This Forum Begging For Censorship By The Mods?"
Fear of playing football mostly. Fragility. Thin skin. Firstly, not a thread hijack and I am not harping on the covid here, just their mentality and methodology, with the covid as the example. In a nutshell: It's 'cause they're skeered to engage openly and honestly and let's be honest - they are ill equipped to do so and mentally unarmed for battle. They need fact-checkers (protected opinions, according to Facebook)
Quote:
...“For another, Stossel’s claims focus on the fact-check articles written by Climate Feedback, not the labels affixed through the Facebook platform. The labels themselves are neither false nor defamatory; to the contrary, they constitute protected opinion.”...
|
to validate their spoon fed opinions and to protect them from getting shattered. Honestly, you can exchange the covid in the below for practically anything or topic and it is still the model. Plus, I don't want to offend the mods in answering your question on specific thread related examples
I posted this the other day: O I C They are skeered to play football is all
Quote:
Found this SubStack article very revealing. The whole vaxx vs anti-vaxx, besides being as stupid as "I am the science - the one - the way - the only way"; all boils down to insecurity and avoiding being defeated on the field of play. Chicken-shits.
This guy went to the conference and asked a few polite questions to some of the esteemed colleagues there. Some answers were astounding as much as they were revealing. Emphasis mine in the snippets. Quote:
From the Belly of the Beast...
I attended the 23rd World Vaccine Congress in Washington DC. This is what I saw and heard...
Madhava Setty Apr 10, 2023
...An American pediatrician chaired the roundtable. He opened the discussion with a request for ideas on how to counter vaccine hesitancy.
I had one:“It’s obvious that the Krispy Kreme doughnuts and travel restrictions are carrots and sticks that have only partially worked. Those that remain hesitant are steadfast in their position because they have looked harder than most.
“They aren’t believing rumors. They are listening to credentialed physicians and scientists who have authored numerous peer-reviewed papers and who happen to be COVID-19 vaccine critics. Why don’t we engage them openly and see what they have to say?”
Katie Attwell, Ph.D., a professor from the University of Western Australia whose interest is in vaccine policy and uptake, shot down that idea. I didn’t know who she was at the time. I did manage to speak with her personally later in the week. Her rebuke was curt and to the point, “We cannot give any voice to the critic,” she told me. “Once the public sees them on equal footing with us they may believe what they are saying.”
Implicit in her strategy is the idea that the public cannot separate information from misinformation. Truth, in her mind, cannot stand on its own. It needs to be identified by those who know better...
So when it comes to science: They are the science - the one - the way - the only way. Any notion of debating the science is verboten! Nyet! Because, what if people believed "the other guy"? What if they had points to make that they couldn't respond to? What if their own position sucked and the peons saw it? Eeeeeeeek!
Since head-to-head competition is Right Out, as they might actually loose the debate, then what? No problemo. Reeducation will surely work. From the Tactics of the Lame: Label them, then figure out how to attack them directly. So they actually spent a lot of money (by they I mean the Big Pharmas) to analyze them and break them into smaller groups to assail.

Once a person is properly categorized, “personalized messaging” can be used to bring them back to “reality.” According to the abstract of his study:“Just as precision medicine treats individuals, this study of 3000 parents (inclusive of all demographics) in the USA sought to identify the most effective personalized messaging to address vaccine hesitancy among parents. First, it sought correlations between: demographics; stated specific reasons for vaccine hesitancy; cognitive biases; cognitive styles; identity-linked worldviews; and personality traits.
“Second, it tested 16 messages in the form of mini-narratives, each embodied with a behavioral science principle, to find if certain messages resonated better than others depending on the many factors above.”
I later asked him how he would respond to someone who looked at the trial and observational data and found that it told a different story about the vaccines’ safety. He smiled, “Oh, those are the ones that have a higher need for cognitive closure. Yes. They are stuck because they cannot move forward if there is any uncertainty.”...
Ya catch that? The opposition is "stuck", not that their position may be "weak". Because - They are the science - the one - the way - the only way. Any notion of debating their science is verboten! Nyet!
Eat the bugs, own nothing and like it - or else. Capiche Comrade?!?

Is one even capable of understanding the lengths the weaker-minded will go to protect their fragile beliefs?!? Look at the massive investments in $$, time and effort that was exerted on Twitter - as revealed in the "Twitter Files" as an example. Clearly they need help. All the help they can get to maintain their Mass Formation Psychosis.
Ironic that they often end up in The Valley of The BANNED.

Charlie, Most of your threads are about blacks and Trans people. I can see how Esteemed Board Member Blackman could become annoyed. And TS Mokies too.
The reality is that the moderators censor very little here. I posted for a while on Washington Post discussion boards and about one of every four of my posts was deleted. And I’m fairly diplomatic.
WYID, you are free to post as much COVID Vaccine Fantasy Snuff Porn here as you wish too.
I agree the left in America is somewhat less inclined towards free expression and freedom of the press. But you’re not going to find good examples of that on eccie.

The simple reason is that for the left the answer to ideas they don't like or support is not to have better ideas or arguments. If they had them, they would use them. Since they don't they default to being offended in order to shut down debate. Better that nobody gets to speak, than to have ideas they dislike voiced.
It's just that simple.

... Wrong.
... The onley thing we ask is the same thing here:
... Stay on-topic.
... It's the liberal lads - such as yer-self -
who whine to the Monitours and accuse them of
banning people and not being fair.
... I surely even pointed that out in a thread
over there.

You’re wrong again. On two fronts. Two of Your buddies there constantly report everyone and it’s known.
The other thing is I’m not liberal. I generally vote Republican. You’re not very bright, but this is more than the first time I’ve told you I generally vote Republican. I’m just too “RINO” for you. Lol
You’re just not smart enough to pick up on that…..again.

... I'm NOT wrong that we had a thread on this
very topic over there... And I did a piece on it.
Wanna have a go and take a look?
But again, are you claiming that Charlie is wrong in HIS belief??

... Good news, Charley3... I FOUND the thread we did
on this very issue - in the Pittsburgh forum.
Started 6 Feb of this year - entitled "ECCIE Needs New Thread"
by "mtnitlion" ... even our esteemed "Biomed" commented there.
(Though I surely reckon post #60 is the best o' the lot )
The liberal lads were complaining there about too many
conservative posts by one or two lads... and called
for censure-ship.
And YOU were right there with them, Charley3.
Republican or not. .... Asking for censure-ship.
Maybe I can get Berry to move the thread here
for all to see.

Hey Charley3, we may disagree with Salty from time to time, in particular about Trump. But he's got more common sense about economics than most all Democratic Politicians.
I'm not sure who's reporting whom here on eccie. It may be pretty equal. Probably like you, I've never reported anyone.
However on college campuses and the editorial departments and board rooms of many media companies, I believe the left is more inclined to try to shut up dissenting views.
It's refreshing to see Musk calling the shots at Twitter btw.
