Trump did everything including hinting at pulling out of NATO to politically suck off Putin. All he did was delay the inevitable with Ukraine but having a President with altzimers sure doesn’t help.
Best thing would be a negotiated settlement but you just don’t let Putin get the idea it can go after it’s pre- end of Cold War self.
