A note of interest is how the division among the Democrats answered the OPs topic and thread title.

Have they voted on anything yet? I don’t think so? You should resolve your statements till facts can back up your thoughts. I gave you credit for knowing that, evidently I was wrong again

The reference is to the division of Democrats during the civil rights era. As TWK was attempting to make a few points from time gone by.

Inadvertently he precisely answered your topic question you asked.

The Progressive Party at the time...was the Party of Lincoln.

Thank you valued poster for yet another attempted distortion.

of course it was progressive of the Republicans to oppose slavery. it was also progressive of them that they voted in a larger percentage for the Civil Rights act than Democrats did yet some seem to think the Democrats were united and unanimous in their support. they weren't.

how "progressive" are the Democrats today? radical is more to the point.

The Progressive Party was still the GOP...after LBJ's Civil Rights legislation, they migrated to the Democrats while the so called conseratives migrated to the GOP.

Didn't they teach you that in your history class...or was it just hangman knots and white sheets?

No damn wonder they say certain kids need CRT taught in school!!!

there were always conservatives in the GOP and there was no "flip" where masses of Democrats joined the GOP and masses of so-called progressive Republicans joined the Democratic party. that narrative is false no matter how many times you and ava keep claiming that.

the GOP from within became more conservative while the Democrats became more progressive from within. and define "progressive" today vs. the Civil War area. or the 1960's. it's not the same thing today. now, progressives are radical socialists like AOC and her fellow cunts in the squad.

you could also argue that keeping the union and freeing slaves wasn't really all that progressive and in fact was conservative in wanting to keep the union intact and compassionate to free the slaves. there is fact fact a term for it .."compassionate conservative" perhaps you've heard of it?

Compassionate conservatism is an American political philosophy that stresses using conservative techniques and concepts in order to improve the general welfare of society.

The ole flip myth that is believed by small children and political idiots. Never happened...unless you want to offer real proof that it did happen.
