Saw him live in 1973 and became a fan. He was not unknown to other musicians and had a profound influence on a number of guitar players.

I've actually got an album he did with Charlie Daniels a long time ago and CD left his fiddle at home and they rocked out.

I've heard of him but don't have any of his work. Gonna have to change that . . . !

In the meantime, might want to give this a listen. Not electric guitar. You're gonna call me a liar after listening to this but it's one man on one 12 string guitar! I didn't believe it either the first time I listened to this guy!

Welllll, on this live recording anyway , he's playing a 12 string with an electric pickup, so it's kind of a hybrid.
Still an amazing player combining flat pick and finger style picking.

AND, believe it or not, Vaseline Machine Gun is about average for him. Haven't listened to him in a VERY long time! Gonna change that too!!! I used to worship his music . . .
