Default What is significance of “Ciao”?

I’ve seen a number of posts with CIAO across the pictures. Is this the photographer? The pimp? Or some other code?

That's interesting I've wondered this too and I have no idea what it means.

It could either mean hello or goodbye

Ciao is an informal salutation in the Italian language that is used for both "hello" and "goodbye". Originally from the Venetian language, it has entered the vocabulary of English and of many other languages around the world.Wikipedia.

I used to hear some people using it trying to be cool or urbane. It sounded like 'chow'.

In addition to what Tuck said, CIAO is also a snapchat filter that was viral back in 2020.

On a side note, if you want to be really informal, use "Ciao, ciao!" which means "bye, bye!"
