Lots of times he can't EVEN read the teleprompter and proceeds to launches in incoherent word salads and when he's done he turns to shake hands with Casper. Hell this teleprompter has 12 inch high letters and is 10 feet away. I love the ill conceived and terribly flawed logic of the TDS crowd..."at least we don't have Trump". Astute observers of President Joe Biden and his press events may have noticed a decline in Oval Office meet and greets with reporters present. A new report reveals a rather unflattering reason for the dearth of Oval Office scrums hosted by the Commander in Chief: no permanent teleprompter can be installed.

Jonathan Lemire and Meredith McGraw reveal this interesting detail in a thorough Politico report on a looming 2024 election that seems more and more likely to be a rematch between Biden and former President Donald Trump.


The teleprompter bit is presented in the context of growing concern among his political allies that the 79-year-old Biden might not be up for the rigorous task of a presidential campaign. Trump is 75 years old.

Still, some allies and Democrats privately worry that Biden may not be able to handle the rigors of another campaign.

A bone he broke in his foot while playing with his dog in late November 2020 still occasionally bothers Biden, resulting in a slower and shorter gait. And the White House has largely abandoned using the Oval Office for press events in part because it can’t be permanently equipped with a teleprompter; Biden aides prefer the fake White House stage built in the Old Executive Office Building next door for events, sacrificing some of the power of the historic backdrop in favor of an otherwise sterile room that was outfitted with an easily read teleprompter screen.

Biden has been open about his lifelong struggles with a stutter, which he largely overcame during a, shall we say, spryer time in his political career. And while the sitting president has occasionally dropped a gaffe here and there, he has also been able to command a roughly two-hour press conference with relative ease.

News that Biden is becoming increasingly reliant on the present teleprompter, however, will do nothing for the narrative that he has lost a step or two, and is certain to become A-block fodder on conservative media programming.

Not so sure about that part about the broken foot being the cause of his walking difficulties. While I am no Doctor, I'm pretty sure his gait is caused by Think Walking, where he is literally thinking about how to walk - like OK, left foot first, then right foot, then... Either that of he has a yuuuge load of crap in his diaper.
