Cry me a river about changing terms....how about the companies hurt by Trumps tax war with China?

And I already know if it is the Biden Administration you are going to speculate like Chicken Little about how how unfair something is THAT HASN'T EVEN HAPPENED.

But if you're so sure and just not talking partisan shit on a hooker board...explain how we can make money shorting energy.

Because if you can't, I'm doing like Warren Buffett and buying more!

I'm not a fan of shorting oil and gas companies. If the price of oil goes to $200 a barrel you're fucked. And in fact I've got a significant position (for me) in shares of companies that produce fossil fuels. The majority is invested in foreign companies, which are not subject to the whims of Biden et al.

As to "short energy," I have shorted a way-overvalued truck EV company, but it's a tricky business because rates to borrow the shares can shoot sky high, your shares can get bought in, your broker can raise margin rates, etc.

Now please answer my question in Vitaman's thread. I'm serious -- I don't even look at publicly traded partnerships because I suspect they're tax traps, when you sell the shares. If I'm mistaken I'd like to know.

Did eith of you read the article? Both of you understand that energy companies actually like elevated oil prices?

There is this whole false narrative circulating that high oil prices are due to Biden. That is horseshit and both of you know it.

so it's Putin's fault after all. who knew?

CEO's, investors and stockholders are being greedy!

Fuck you and your high gas prices complaints.

Applied Materials is a good company. You're like Gordon Geiko in the movie Wall Street, you hear things.

Didn't you post on here your entire portfolio a couple years back? You over ruled your broker on IBM stock. He wanted to sell it and you wanted to keep it.

I like Applied Materials and IBM. Nothing wrong with those two.

If you go broke I'll send you canned foods. But you'll have to agree to quit voting for Democrats. You can vote Libertarian if you want, I realize Republican might be a bridge too far for you.

I hate to tell you this WTF, but sometimes you have to just agree to disagree. You have your beliefs about energy and others who you are arguing with don't agree with you. They won't change your mind and you won't change their minds. It is what it is.

There is a reason why boxing matches are limited to twelve rounds, and they stop the fight and they let the judges decide the winner. I could be incorrect, but the longest sanctioned boxing match ever went on for over 100 rounds and it was called a "no contest" for a reason because nobody could win.
