Welcome to the world of long term marriage, Dman.I was conversing with a new acquaintance yesterday and he related how he and his wife of 26 years didn't survive empty nest syndrome. I mentioned how we had survived, and my voice broke and my breath let a sob escape.
After surviving, we celebrated with some more good years, and then came the grandchildren and we made the same mistake with them as we'd made with our offspring, fussing over the the 3rd generation as much as, probably more than, we'd done with the 2nd generation. To the neglect of each other.
And now I wonder if we made the right choice the first time around. We all make our choices, one way or the other.
