The alternative to a local provider who as you pointed out aren't usually too responsive in providing references is, I suppose is a P411 verification or providing some personal info, which everyone has their own threshold of tolerance for.

I will say that once you screen with an agency, that has girls coming in regularly you're cleared with them for good, and they usually give you a heads up when someone is coming to town.
