New blind person here from upstate NY

Hello all,

So this is my first time doing anything like this, joining a forum like this, etc. I'm a late-20s blind man from upstate Ny using a screen reader to navigate this site. I have to say, the accessibility of the site could use a bit of work LOL but the mobile site is much better so that's what I'm using for the time being.

Due to extra amounts of loneliness caused by the coronavirus pandemic I went online last week looking for some companionship and, after some e-mails and texts back and forth, have my first ever appointment of this type with a local Rochester, NY young woman, Lilly Grey (lillygrey.net). I became interested in her after I saw how thorough her Website is, how she is very akin to your own exclusive girlfriend, and how kind she was while we were communicating with each other. We've set up a meeting to take place in just a few days, and I am both excited and extremely nervous.

As I said I've never met someone like this before, an escort if you will, a companion of this type. Never paid someone to essentially have a dating experience with them. But I've seen from this site and others that she has great reviews. However if there is anything in general that you in the community think I should keep in mind please feel free to reply here. For example things to keep in mind, safety tips, best practices, etc. I would normally never even consider something like this but due to my visual impairment and being on the spectrum I have an awful lot of difficulty making new friends, dating, or just finding someone I can significantly spend time with. I'm not looking to do anything illegal though or get into trouble or anything like that.

Anyways any tips/advice/etc. would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Have you always been blind or did you lose your eyesite?
I kind of have a hard time describing things to a blind person who has never "seen" anything.

I was born with a very small amount of eyesight, enough to see some colors and shapes but not to read print or anything like that. Had that until about 2011/2012, then lost everything gradually to the point where I haven't been able to see anything since then. But it hasn't stopped me as I believe that anyone can overcome the challenges they face as long as they put their mind to it and put the right amount of effort in.

But yes, I have met with a few different providers since joining ECCIE, based on the review sI've read of them on this site, and they have all been very accommodating to me which has been great. Some have told me they've never had a blind client before, while others have, so it's been cool to try and show people the best ways to interact with those who are visually impaired.
