Assuming the cost is closer to $25 billion, economists told us there’s not enough new benefits to the U.S. in the new trade agreement to pay for the wall.
Yes. And as I recommended to the Administration, making it a tourist attraction with restaurants, bars, shopping etc. through public and private financing would turn it into something better than The Great Wall of China and Disney World.

Love this idea! There could be a MAGA outlet Store. And a target range would be all the rage!

How about two large fences separated by 100 yards, with land mines in between and loudspeakers blaring out "Ride of the Valkyries" at high volume, day and night. That's the song that Robert Duval played in Apocalypse Now whenever he'd storm a beach, to freak out the Viet Cong. For good measure we could have giant search lights at night panning the area. And instead of restaurants and bars and the like, we could promote adventure tourism, like the safaris in Africa. We could charge people to run around on jeeps and shoot illegals. Maybe your tourists could take home trophies, after the corpses make a trip to the taxidermist. This would provide badly needed business to deer processors in border areas who are suffering from the drought in tourism because of Covid.

I'm not serious of course. I'm sure Winn Dixie is not either, as we depend on a steady flow of Cuban and Venezuelan women across the border to replenish the stripper population in clubs like Chicas Bonitas.

Seriously, I believe Trump's concerns about robbers and rapists and Americans deprived of menial jobs they don't want anyway are overstated. However, I don't like people coming to America illegally, becoming citizens, and voting for Democrats. And, more importantly, there are a lot of people who die crossing the border, hundreds every year, some from dehydration and the like, and others killed by the cartels. That's not to mention those who are raped and robbed. If you could put up some kind of an effective barrier, not necessarily a wall, cheaply that would dissuade people from risking life and limb, that would be a good thing.

I'm sorry has the wall been finished? I hadn't heard.

For those of you arguing walls don't work...

What's the first thing Obama did to his new house in DC? Oh yeah, put up a bigger wall.

Anyone that has been to Israel pre-wall during the 2nd Intafada and post wall knows why the 2nd Intifada failed... the f*cking Pals couldn't get through the wall effectively...

So yeah walls work and it needs to get completed.

Back on topic. No the media won't be able to drag Biden over the finish line. They are all in and losing the lasts bits of credibility they had. It's going to be really interesting post election how the media acts and what happens to Big Tech...

The USMCA is an improvement over NAFTA but it will not bring significant revenue into the U.S. Treasury in the form of taxes paid by those corporations that will benefit the most. Mainly automobile manufacturers. And the cost of automobiles to consumers will rise due to the USMCA.

No, not all it takes. Having a really, really shitty president like Donald J. Trump would help convince anyone, except maybe his blind, deaf and stupid supporters.
