I agree about the stupidity of hobbying right now, even (maybe especially) at an AMP. But I also don't believe in fear mongering.
Where do you get 24,000 local positive tests??
Today's Post Gazette has total tests administered in Allegheny County at 10,056, with 876 cases.
Johns Hopkins website
https://coronavirus.jhu.edu/us-map allows you to look at each individual county. If I take Allegheny county and add in all 6 counties that surround us they have a total of 1547 cases. Even if they are delayed, and they are off by a factor of 2-3x that still doesn't get us to 5000 cases in the area.
Population of those 6 counties is approx 2.1 million people. Which means 1/4 of 1% of the population (as reported) has Covid. It's likely higher, as plenty won't get tested officially.
Again, I agree about staying away from hobbying for the benefit of society, but quoting 24k positive cases locally is flat out wrong/misleading.
