I agree that SW Topeka is where you want to stay. Somewhere on Wanamaker or just off of Wanamaker. There are quite a few hotels on/near Wanamker.

Wanamaker road hotels only, but don't leave anything in your vehicle valued over a dollar. Car burglars in that town will destroy a car for a handful of change left in your console.
