Who cares? I certainly don't. Let them rename whatever they want. At least it will keep them from screwing up something real.

We had a funny little incident several years ago in Houston, a noted Black Polititian, Judson Rebertson, had died, and the city council wanted to honor him with a namesake.

The decision was made to name the IH 610 bridge that goes over the ship channel after him. Everybody was on board.

Except........the night the city council was going to vote on the proposal, one man in the audience stood up and said.....”that bridge is The Sidney Sherman Bridge”

To everbody’s embarrasment, nobody knew it. The next question was, “who the heck was Sidney Sherman”?

Turns out, he was a Colonel in Sam Houston’s Army and was a principle player at the Battle of San Jacinto. The bridge was named for him, it was even on the map.

It’s still the Sidney Sherman Bridge.

The property that the University of Texas sits on was donated by a confederate officer and slave owner.

I doubt they will name it after Barbara Jordon. She preached a message of self reliance and education, not conducive to the poverty pimp/din-do-nuffin crowd that permeates today's Left.

We named the airport terminal after her.

Kinda like Houston did in memory of Mickey Leland. Of course, there were people whining about that, too.

BTW - Jordan would have been on the Supreme Court had it not been for her health.

His name is all over town. So is his former home. No statues just a fountain , dorm, library , building and a street are named after him.
