Default What's going on in Morocco?

What did Louisa Vesterager Jespersen, 24, from Denmark, and Maren Ueland, 28, from Norway do to get treated like they did by NINETEEN of those ...'people'?

Simple. They encountered animals in a place they should not have travelled to. The animals behaved as animals will. Sorry to victim blame but you have to be a complete fucking idiot to travel to North Africa as a tourist.

Actually, Morocco isn’t as dangerous as some other countries in the region. In fact, it’s probanly the safest in the region, though I wouldn’t call it perfectly safe. But generally, this sort of attack there is an anomaly, though if something like this were going to happen, I think most folks would figure areas outside Rabbat and Marikesh would be the most likely setting, not in the more traveled cities. Morocco has been a good ally to the US in its efforts to battle extremists in the region and that has produced some anti-western backlash in the country, but not that much to date. I understand that the latest press reports are that the people currently selected are line wolf religious extremists.

But historically, Morocco has been relatively safe compared to almost anywhere else in Africa outside South Africa or some of the more developed West African Democracies.

It's no different than a foreign exchange student dieing in the Sante Fe High School shooting earlier this year in Texas. What's your point? Evil people are everywhere.

It would be interesting to know the violent crime rate in both countries. My guess is it would be similar. Perhaps slightly higher property crime in Morocco. But I’m guessing violent crime is similar, or lower there.

Nope. I’m badly wrong. Violent crime rate here is much worse. Murder rate here is 12.5 times higher.

That statistics is kind of BS. What percent of rape is reported in those countries? Even their definition of rape matters.

A lot of crime in those countries is not reported or the correct statistics is not available.
