635/Central Mess Today. Was anyone affected by the crazy traffic?

So until last evening, I had big plans for the day including some naughty business in the Galleria area this early afternoon.

Last night, my plans were cancelled and I'm considering sending the guy a damn thank you note.

Wow. Was just reading about people getting stuck on 635 for hours.

The only way (for me) to get to the Addison area is to take LBJ from the Garland. And honestly, generally don't watch news reports and if I had taken off around 11 AM, probably would have been in the thick of it.

Did anyone get stuck in traffic today?

Curious to hear if the situation was as bad as the news stories. Sounds horrid.

I headed south on 75 about 11AM. I didn't know about it, and the highway sign said "alternate lanes closed" which was wrong. The entire freeway was shut down and everyone forced off onto the access road. Rush hour was over by then, but it still took me about an hour to get thru the High-5 area.
