Amen. Couldn't have said it better myself.
Unfortunately, our line of work carries certain risks with it.
Should it be that way? No. But that doesn't change the fact that it is.
That is why screening is so important. The dangers are real and there are plenty enough men out there looking to do us harm.
Any provider who thinks elsewise is sorely misguided and needs a reality check. I don't say this to scare anyone, but I am of the mind that if any person should choose to engage in a certain activity, they need to be fully aware of and accept every facet of that activity so as to understand how to keep themselves safe and sane.
