To be precise, Rh isn't a blood type, but an antigen or "factor." It's actually a protein that can be found on the surface of most, but not every person's, red blood cells. My blood type is A-, for instance. (Not THE rarest, but only 7% of the Caucasian population. I always knew that I was special. ) So, I'm Rh-negative as I lack that protein on my blood cells. (Something that became a critical issue in my failed pregnancy decades ago. The fetus was Rh-positive, so my immune system made antibodies that attacked the baby, my body literally "rejecting" it, but took nearly 9 months to do so, sadly, with me unaware. There's a common test and injectable treatment to prevent that, now, happily.)

^^Yeah my SO mother has had alot of failed pregnancies as well..

She's AA and has the RH factor..
