I agree, there is nothing wrong with having sexual needs. I do think we also have intimacy needs, though, that can only be met with authentic interpersonal connection. A lot of people try to meet their intimacy needs by having promiscuous sex because they confuse sex with intimacy. And I do think that is a problem. Having lots of empty sex to meet one's need to love is harrowing and tragic.
Also, it can be confusing in deep, subtle ways when someone convincingly acts like they care about you. You know they don't, but your brain will still release Oxytocin when they caress you, when you finish inside of them, when they look into your eyes longingly. I think that confusing sense of false connection is what drives a lot of people in the hobby to emotionally disconnect, and that goes for both hobbyists and providers.
