Legal advice on social security fraud

Good evening everyone I am in need of some legal advice in regards to reporting social security fraud. I was a victim of Identity theft in 2005 it took me almost 8 years to recover from it so I have no respect for people who are identity thieves, the group of individuals that I am speaking of have been using fake Social Security numbers to attain apartments cable services and other things and it recently come to my knowledge and I want to report this mom and daughter team to the proper authorities, but I don’t where to start. I have the documentation of this fraud as well. Any help would be Appreciated thanks and have a great day.

I think you would get a better answer if you posted this in the ECCIE National Forum "A Question of Legality". You will find more lawyers there with better legal advice.

I doubt that calling Social Security will do you any good. If you've got real proof to give to the authorities, I would consider calling the local office of the FBI. But, then, IANAL.

You will have to file a police report in the city you reside in.

Or and call SS office they will help a lot .

I’d start with the SS Office.

If they are using your ss no file a police report asap. If not yours then otify the places you know they used it and let them file on them. If it is not your no then you have no standing to file.

I reported the parties on Monday i’m a big believer in doing the right thing and these parties were in the wrong for using fake Social Security numbers. Normally I would’ve turned a blind eye but as I stated before I was a victim of identity theft in 2005 and I have no tolerance for people who steal identities and do stuff to defraud others. After reporting these parties the young lady that took my report was very gracious and told me thank you, I did my good deed, I hope the report that I filed can help someone from being a victim. Okay and happiness is what I felt in reporting the fraud to the SS office doing the right thing is awesome I’m glad I was able to help someone from not being a victim of this fraud and abuse.
