Paddle Questions

Something I thought I would ask for experiences on. I have a wooden paddle that I made, it is about 4" across and 14" long, plus the handle. It gives a hell of a sting. I am wondering if there is a way, maybe a covering to slightly lessen the sting. I like to give long slow spankings, but this has a bit much sting.

I have used ,my hand, floggers, crops, etc. They all have their place. But I am wanting something with more sting than those, but the paddle has a bit too much. I have not tried a leather "paddle", maybe they are a step down from wood? I guess I should experiment with that too.

Any thoughts or experiences?

Soft nylon rope tightly wrapped around the paddle or a deer skin covering should do the trick. With wood, the sting comes from the coefficient of friction against the skin combined with its rigidity. In other words as the skin flattens and spreads against the boards surface from the force of impact it creates friction. So a soft covering like deer skin or soft rope will dissipate some of that friction force.

I've had a few clients make me a paddle that sounds like yours. While those have their place, most people cannot handle the pain that comes from something so heavy.

Not sure HOW you could make it hurt less, but you could always use less force when you spank.

I like leather paddles, especially ones that have a little give to them. Generally, they'll have some steel, or some similar metal, in the handle so the handle doesn't break.

There are some REALLY experiences spankees in this group.

If you like wood, have you considered getting a slightly curved on the bottom, wooden hair brush? I'd need to find the 2 that I have, one is more flat and the other is curved, but for the price, BOTH offer a lot of variation.

I will try the deer hides, I actually have a couple very soft tanned hides. make a cover with stitching down one edge, that would be easy to do and would be an interesting look.

it is really not that heavy, and has a heck of a sting, even with a relatively light tap. I have used it on myself to see what it feels like. If i really made a hard swat with it, it would be way too much for most people . I have not experimented with hair brushes either. need to try that

Sometimes a stiff piece of leather is wrapped is bundled up to make a handle that is flexible.

I have use the CNC mill to remove the wood on the back side. The total weight of the paddle is what causes deep bruising. I have also does some out of Carbon fiber.

I want a paddle to cause pain , but not injury or cause deep bruising.

I think that in some people a sudden and intense pain to the back side releases endorphins. This action will not happen if they are afraid of the aftermath, such as deep muscles bruising.

I designed a few paddles over the years . They are light weight but very stiff. They cause it to hurt but not cause deep muscle bruising. I am not in to receiving, but the only way to do final testing is to experience it. I use the same sensor array to teach people what is too hard.
