Default Did You Hear the One About ...

Did you hear the one about the blond optical engineer?

Well, just stop me if you've already heard this one.

Silly Sally was young, gorgeous, blond, and built like the proverbial brick outhouse. And she was assigned by her manager to design the lens for a "retro" sort of camera that was supposed to not only use old-school film, but even-older-school black and white film.

A few days later, she came to a preliminary design review meeting with a single-element design. Yes, single element. One piece of glass.

One of her colleagues asked her, "With only one element -- only one kind of glass -- only one value of refractive dispersion -- how can your design be corrected for chromatic aberrations?"

Silly Sally just laughed and laughed. "Didn't you listen? This camera doesn't use color film!"

Hey, I got a million of 'em, folks. I'll be here all week. And don't forget to tip your server!
