Default Sir Patrick Stewart, as you've never heard him before

LOL! Is this for a real or something you found off of Saturday Night Live?

I forget where I stumbled across it... either it crawled across my Facebook feed (probably via one of the Star Trek fan groups I subscribe to) or YouTube recommended it to me based on something else I watched. It might be an SNL bit, but I thought NBC generally moves to get SNL content off YouTube and on to their official site (Hulu? NBC's site? Other?) where they get paid for it; that kind of suggests to me it's not an SNL sketch.

It's definitely not for real.

Watching it again one thing I can say is that I'm kinda surprised by how good Stewart's singing voice is--not really totally suited for C&W, which is part of the fun of the joke, of course--but given how Leonard Nimoy and William Shatner parlayed their iconic Star Trek roles into a number of record albums, I'm sort of surprised we haven't seen Stewart do a few of his own.

Hey Mr. Bluffcity, you video is amazing. Those country western songs are some of my favorites! If this is you in the video. You will have to have a private concert hobby party! It would be legal. You have an amazing voice, and are fit for your calling! Hopefully we will meet some day soon? Hugs, and Kisses...

Oh, my... I'm at a loss for words now...

I don't know which voice you're so smitten by, but I hate to disappoint you by admitting that none of them are mine. I'm not really qualified to do any sort of vocals or on-camera acting for a project like this; if you were to meet me in person you'd discover that I have a face that is ideal for radio, and a voice best suited to either mime or silent films.

As far as I've been able to tell, the two singers (appearing in the video as well as heard on the soundtrack) are none other than Sir Patrick hisownself (who seems indeed to be gifted with a fine singing voice) and his wife Sunny Ozell (who is, IIRC, a professional singer IRL, so she's no slouch in the vocal department herself). (Apparently, this is an actual "album" that Stewart (with some backup by Ozell) recorded for charity around a year or so ago; see: Watch Patrick Stewart Go Country for Charity in Outrageous Ad (Rolling Stone)).

As for the other, off-camera announcer's voice, I have no clue who he is, other than he's not me. The website for the album includes credits (http://www.pstewsings.com/index.html#credits) which identify him ("Voice Over") as one Ethan Eubanks, who pretty much did everything connected with this project except the actual camera work (he wrote, directed, and produced the YouTube video, and he's one of the band members who appear in the video backing up Sir Patrick).

If you're really that smitten with Mr. Eubanks's voice, he has a Twitter (https://twitter.com/eestankify?lang=en). I don't do Twitter (because I'm not a twit ) so I don't know how the process works, but I'm sure that if you do Twitter could follow him, message him (if Twitter has any sort of private messaging function) and do your best to arrange that private concert hobby party and maybe a night (or at least a couple hours) of passion with him. Good luck!

As for you and I meeting... Well, assuming you'd still want to after bitterly disappointing you (no doubt) by my confession here, I won't rule anything off the table, but that would be highly dependent on my schedule and my budget cooperating, and both have been extremely contrarian the past few years. But if it's meant to happen, it probably will, so I won't give up on the possibility.

Cheers,

bcg
