Common issue with Samsung. I've personally had three that did same exact thing. Certainly you have googled it already and found that you are definitely not alone. Second time it happened to me the lower right hand corner melted. A friend had same problem with a couple and switched to Sony. He said no problem since...

Friend said he can't remember who he used. I had the same tv for about 5 years than I sold it and just stick to my battlestation set up.

Thanks my friends- it's been suggested that compressed air my resolve the issue and some people have said you just need to take the back panel off and check connections
