Default Dubai Motels are Cracking Down

There are a couple of popular lists of "girl friendly" motels in Dubai floating around the internet but beware - the list is a little out of date. I have been traveling through Dubai frequently from years but only recently stopped for about 8 months then traveled there again last month. Much has changed. I used the list to book hotels without a problem before. However, many of those hotels have now changed their policies.

I recently stayed at the Ramada in Bur Dubai as a escort agency I've used several times suggested it as one that is still "girl friendly". Even they have changed. I received a call from the girl when she arrived in the lobby. Security stopped her from simply coming in and going up the elevator. I went down assuming it would be Ok if I escorted her up. I was told by the desk staff than due to a new policy, any visitors in the rooms should come in with the guest at check-in, not later. In other words, this person should be a spouse or significant other traveling with the guest. They allowed me to slide this time and took her passport and made a copy of it. They charged me 150 AED for double occupancy on the room and basically pretended she was traveling with me but they warned that this would not be possible in the future.

A motel that I used to love staying in on Al Riga Rd. has stopped allowing visitors in the rooms altogether. They used to allow it and would tell you as much when you checked in. Now they pretend that they have had a moral change of heart. I suspect local Law Enforcement has done something to cause this change.

I will be making 2 trips in August. I will stay at 2 different hotels and report back on each. As well as where I ended up going if they aren't friendly. Cheers!

I picked two hotels off of the lists in the Visitor friendly hotels thread. I will try them out mid-August and give a report. Hell, I will even ask the girls for the scoop on the hotels that house the pick-up spots I intend to try out.

Hotels are already booked, I cannot wait. Going to be a fun hobbying trip.

The Grand Excelsior in Bur Dubai is not really girl friendly. But drive down & park in the underground parking get in the elevator & go up. Would be better if it is a Russian chick & she can use a scarf as a Hijab. When the guard in the underground drive tries to stop you wave and drive past him. Have done this many times.

The Four Points by Sheraton in Bur Dubai off Khalid Bin Walid Road which is 2 blocks before the York Hotel is friendly. They charge 60 Dirhams for the guest every time.
