OK so which IT genius screwed up something that was working good? To be very specific WTF did the browse show cases button go?

It's still there but it's white text on a white background...a little hard to see.

Have you tried going to your user CP? Click on options, go to bottom of page and change the skin color.

May help/ Mine is fine.

Changing the skin doesn't help. It's still white text on a white background. They say a picture is worth a thousand words so here you go...

Now here it is again with my mouse on top of the "browse showcase" button.

Is there a specific site forum/thread to report issues with the upgrade?

yeah, that happened to me this morning, too. i had to force a sign on error.
