New app using hotel rooms photos to bust people
I saw a blurb on local tv where there is an app that matches hotel rooms by their photos. Apparently some human trafficking group is trying to match the girls by their room photos. The police were part of the story and said they wanted to get the same intel so they could find where the ladies were working. With this in mind you ladies might want to think twice about doing photos with a view of a river, beach, landmark etc. I am sure as they build their data base they will even be able to tell which Day Inn or La Quinta the photos were taken. The app is asking travelers to take four or five views of their hotel rooms and submit them with the location and date for the data base. While I support protecting anyone forced into this business, I am concerned about the over 18 crowd doing it of their own free will and being targeted by law enforcement. This will also help hotels target people too.
Sorry if this has already been posted, but I thought it was interesting enough to mention again.

That is why I never post face pics....I was told that some hotels will have pics of girls and keep them for when girls check in to see if they match up....so scary. Thanks for the warning!!

I have not read about this and am so glad you took the time to share this. Although I do not post face pictures, of the 4 times I have utilized local hotels, 2 nosy front desk clerks felt the need to ask "what brings you here today?" and "oh you live right down the road" after seeing my address on my ID. I gave them good excuses and was not questioned anymore. It still disturbed me because 1) Most of the gentlemen I've seen tell me I don't look like an escort and 2) I only patronize upscale hotels, as was advised on this board. This local hotel situation has me concerned.

Honestly they shouldn't take photos in any rooms. Every major brand has their own room decor. i.e. Marriots, Doubletree, Hiltons, Holiday Inns, etc. all have color schemes for the curtains and bed sheets/linens. It's very easy to match up where they are even if their face isn't in the photo. I've worked in hotels before and you'd be shocked how many providers would check in and use the same phone number on their reservation that they use on backpage or wherever. They stick out like a sore thumb and it is very unsafe.

I've done photoshoots in hotel rooms, but most of the time photographers will bring in their own bedding and shoot from different angles to hide the identification of the room. I don't expect hookers to do this. And 90% of the hotel photos I see on BP are horrible

I heard something about this. I am usually pretty cautious about what I have in the background of my photos as well. I typically use professional pictures but I occasionally use a selfie here and there. Ladies be careful and aware of your surroundings. Thanks for the heads up!
