I put "stars" in quotes, because nowadays they are simply referred to as "porn girls". No one is a star if everyone does it.
Years ago, it was possible to regard Annette Haven or Ginger Lynn as a porn "star", because film was expensive to produce, the films had some small amount of plot/acting, and there was a comparatively small number of women who regularly performed in skin flicks.
Since cheap video democratized the production of sexually explicit content, many thousands of young women have taken to performing sex on video. There is no longer plot - or even dialogue sometimes - and the videos are all numbingly the same.
Or sickeningly bizarre and abusive in order to stand out.
So, what exactly, does the AVN awards show recognize as an achievement?

The fans vote so i guess it would be based on sales and exposure .
